
Andrew is recognised as one of Northland’s leading commercial lawyers. Highly experienced in all matters of commercial law, Andrew specialises in rural matters, tenders, contracts, financing, licencing matters and sale and purchases of businesses. He specialises in dispute resolution and mediation, working with business owners, family trusts & estates to resolve matters before they escalate and result in significant business break up or loss of revenue.
His facilitative skill base is a reflection of years of experience in commercial discussions, paired with his experience in sports governance. He was on the Northland Rugby Union board as Chairman (September 2008 to April 2014 and again in 2023/2024 )and President from 2020 to 2023 .He was awarded a life membership in 2025.
He was a director for New Zealand Rugby from 2014 to 2020. He currently chairs the New Zealand Rugby Foundation . He is also the Honorary Solicitor for several sports clubs, including the Whangarei Racing Club. He has served on the Northland Basketball board and chaired the Northland Sports Governance coalition. He is the President of the Cobham Cricket Club.
Andrew graduated with a combined Commerce and Law Degree from Otago University in 1991 and was admitted that year. As a proud Northlander, he thoroughly enjoys being back in his hometown and working to support his region. He believes in using and driving our local economy and proudly acts for a number of Northland's leading businesses.
